I think i'm becoming obsessed with someone.

Not in the sense of being attracted to anyone for a while, I mean being seriously obsessed with her. I'm constantly waiting for her to come online on MSN, I browse through her bebo daily and i'm always asking her friends about her, which is starting to look suspicious to them.
I don't think it's a mental disorder or anything because i'm not normally like this, but I am really worried, does anybody here have any advice on how I can stop this before people start to notice?

Umm... this is how stalkers start out. Pretty soon you'll be hiding outside her house in the bushes clutching a tuft of hair that you took from her hairbrush when you broke into her house.

Edit: I forgot to actually say anything helpful. Get a hobby or something. Do anything you can to distract yourself. Obsession is not healthy, and could land you in some serious trouble if you let it escalate. I'm not sure what to say other than that. Do you have any feelings for this girl or are you just fixated on her for reasons unknown to you?

Anyhoo, your behaviour is still within the realm of "normality". I assume you'll get over it on your own soon enough. If not, come up with a list of reasons why she's not worthy of obsession. Pick apart her flaws, why it would be a bad idea for you to get involved with her, etc. Then focus on those flaws. Also, once you notice you're doing an "obsessive" act, stop immediately and do something else.

Oh, and like Demoiselle said, find a hobby

The first thing is that you've realised this might look obsessive. This is a good thing. Many people can go for ages and go too far because they don't realise or notice or even care.

When you're thinking about her and feel like you want to ask about her or leave her more messages, think to yourself -

"What does this look like?",
"Would she appreciate this?",
"Is this behaviour acceptable?"

Remember that with girls alot of their ideas and presumptions about people are painted out already for them by their friends. Anything you speak to her friends about will get back to her, especially if they find someone's behaviour weird or worrying.

Do not stop being conscientious, basically. If you feel the attatchment is getting too difficult to manage without causing concern, you need to tell someone.

I'm obsessed with my boyfriend..... I check all his networking site profiles more than once a day, I know his ebay username so I browse what he's been buying, I collect his hairs off the pillow. It scares him a bit but I think in some ways he thinks it's sweet! But there's a line that you really shouldn't cross.... you know if you start following her around in real life or something then you should start to worry but internet stalking is a world away from real life stalking..... everyone does it at some point. I wouldn't worry just yet if I were you

Since when is collecting hairs off someone's pillow acceptable, let alone sweet?! That's not even borderline creepy, that's full out crazy stalker behaviour.
