Cunning Linguists Languages and their use. What languages do you speak and why? What do words really mean? Can you say things in one language that you can't say in another? Should there be a national language? How many languages should a person know and what are they?

Learning spanish

So, in a month I'm gonna live in Buenos Aires and I would really need to find some good site off which I can learn spanish. Preferebly a site that also offers oral exercises, you know, where somebody says it and they you have to repeat it.

Also, any and all tips on how to learn a bit of a language quickly would be very much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Re: Learning spanish

I have heard Rosetta stone can be very useful.

I can guarantee you can find a torrent for specifically what you want, Latin American Spanish.

although 1 month isn't all that much time.

goodluck!

Re: Learning spanish

Do you speak French well already? If so, you already have 70% of Spanish grammar down. You'll see what I mean as soon as you read something in Spanish.

This site might provide some help for learning grammar: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/site...ew0/index.html

Hope you can find some use for this: http://lrc.wfu.edu/dosmundos/Fifth%20Edition.htm . Buy the book (Dos mundos) as well, if you can. I highly recommend it and plan to use it when I'm a Spanish teacher.

This site might help you as well http://www.colby.edu/~bknelson/exercises/

Practise this part especially http://www.colby.edu/~bknelson/exerc...hart_pres.html

I'll post more stuff later.

Re: Learning spanish

I know plenty of sites which offer videos of oral exercises. Lol, jk.

The reason I came into this thread is because I remember two years ago, I mispelled sibyl as sybil and it's all your fault and the fault of all others who have the name sybil.
