We're always working to resolve problems that pop up on orkut.
If your problem is listed below, we're aware of the issue and are working to fix it as soon as possible. Due to high email volume, we're unable to individually answer emails relating to our known issues.
Before contacting us, please review these common issues:
verify email requests * login page refreshing * birthday not showing * mail from orkut not arriving * updates not reflected * is this email from orkut? is orkut going to delete my account? *

We understand that some users are seeing repeated requests to verify their email address. We know this is frustrating and we're working on a fix. Feel free to ignore these notices in the meantime.

We've experienced some recent difficulties with our login page. At times the login page has been refreshing or giving repeated error messages. Click here for some troubleshooting tips.
•
If your friends can't see your birthday make sure you've changed your bday settings and that they're set up to show bday notifications.
•
Some users report that they haven't been getting orkut messages and notifications in their email inboxes. If you're having difficulty with a particular address, please try an address hosted by a different email provider.
•
If your friends don't see your updated profile name or photo, you should make sure they've recently cleared their cache and cookies. Sometimes updates can take a few days (or longer) to appear. We can't fix this issue on a per-profile basis.

When using Firefox, many users are reporting that they cannot see any images in orkut. Click here to fix this problem.

Have you received a suspicious email that appears to be from orkut? Click here to find out more about hoax emails or spam on orkut.
Here’s an example of a recent wave of emails going around that are trying to direct you to a suspicious site:
“That's a pretty sweet page you've got there. This whole Orkut world is kinda blowing my mind these days…You should check out my profile on this other site, I'm always on over there and I doubt if i'll be logging in to orkut everyday: http://www.XXXXX .”
Please exercise caution before clicking on any links or downloadable files, even if they appear to be from orkut.

Has somebody said that they’ve hacked your account and deleted all your scraps? Find out if it's true.
•
Some users have noticed that when they delete their orkut account, their profile may still be visible. Please know that it may take more than 48 HOURS for a profile to be completely deleted. You will not be able to log in to this profile, but it should be completely deleted soon.
If you continue to see it, try logging in here to delete your orkut profile.

Some users are seeing an incorrect number of friends, fans, scraps, unread messages, community members, or photos in their profile. The numbers in your profile are automatically generated and can't be manually changed. However, this incorrect number doesn't affect the actual content of your friends list, fans, scrapbook, inbox, community, or album. Most users report that this problem goes away on its own in a few days.
We're always working to improve orkut for you and fighting spam is one of our current projects. Please be aware that the number of scraps in your profile might decrease as a result of our recent spam cleansing efforts. We hope that you're as excited as we are to decrease the amount of spam on orkut.

Some users can’t find their profiles or communities in the orkut search results. We’re always improving the search function, but cannot manually alter the results. If you still don't see it listed after a few days, try selecting the option to "show all languages."
If orkut pages look funky: Please logout, clear the cache in your browser, and log back in.
RECENT FIXES:
• The information in the "professional" section of your profile should now show recent updates.
• Some folks working in IE weren't able to click on the "photo" or "video" links. We've moved these links to a different spot to eliminate this issue.

For the best experience, please access orkut via Internet Explorer v.6+, Firefox v.1.5+, or Safari 1.3+.
