Concept village
When we start working with a community we need to ensure that they have a greater say and involvement in the process and that nothing is thrust upon them, like it has been historically. Only if the community is fully involved and take responsibility for themselves, their choices, their village and their projects, does it stand a change of succeeding. So, in designing villages around a common purpose and healing, most of the work is done before a brick is even laid. South Africa now is a uniquely complex and diverse society. Each community has its own needs and dynamics and needs to consciously change their old mindsets and choices to new healthy ones. This concept plan is exactly that - a non-replicable blueprint that communities can use as a starting point for their own creative vision for their village, their lives and their livelihood. They themselves identify, through facilitation, what they consider important; what their skills are; what their dreams are. We help make them happen. As they wish it to. And as the village grows and their dreams become larger, the spirals expand to incorporate this.
